    The Gauldrons

    The Ultimate Distillation of Campbeltown

46.2% ABV · Beachy and Biscuity

Occupying a remote location, even by Campbeltown’s standards, on the extreme west coast of Scotland, The Gauldrons literally means “bay of storms”. But, it’s not just the dark storm clouds that set the pulse racing here and set the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end…

All About

The Gauldrons

  • Tasting Notes

Remarkably biscuit-y with cereals, sugar and subtle smoke

Nose Detect a dry saltiness with sweet cereal and a late hint of gentle peat smoke
Palate Initially dry, beachy and maritime, warming to crunched sugar and oak
Finish Warmingly spiced, bringing puffs of smoke, rock pools and dark sugars

    Step Back in Time

As you step onto The Gauldrons’ fine, clean sand, you also step back in time. Over yonder is where a spider building his web - with great patience but great difficulty - inspired King Robert the Bruce to try, try and try again, having been defeated by his enemies. All around you can sense the ghosts of the long lost Distilleries that once proudly proclaimed Campbeltown “Scotland’s Whisky capital”.

    From the Bay of Storms

The Gauldrons takes you down the long and winding road, over moorland and through now abandoned villages, to one of the most isolated Whisky outposts in the world. All but surrounded by the ocean, the air here is heavy with sea mist and infused with the whim blossom that brightens the landscape.
