This exciting partnership marks a fusion of two beloved traditions - Scotch Whisky and beer - each crafted with the same meticulous care and passion, now coming together in a way that celebrates the essence of both.
Today, WEST Brewery launched the first exciting part of this collaboration, a beer finished in our very own Timorous Beastie Highland Blended Malt Scotch Whisky casks. As a brand that is rooted in both heritage and innovation, we couldn't be more excited about the flavours that this process will bring. The Whisky-soaked casks, having matured our Timorous Beastie, will impart complex notes of vanilla, spice, and heather honey to the beer, offering a rich and multi-layered drinking experience that beer enthusiasts won’t want to miss. It’s a rare opportunity to explore the intersection of two worlds - where the robust maltiness of the beer will meet the smooth, mellowed influence of Highland Scotch Whisky.
In 2025, we will complete the circle by releasing a UK-exclusive, extremely small batch of our Timorous Beastie Highland Blended Malt Scotch Whisky, finished in those same casks. This Whisky will be a true testament to our commitment to craftsmanship, as it takes on the characteristics of the beer that once rested in the same wood, creating a Whisky with a whole new profile. The hops, malts, and yeast used in WEST’s iconic brewing process will leave a distinctive imprint on the Whisky, resulting in a complex, yet balanced dram that will intrigue Whisky aficionados and adventurous palates alike.
