A trip to Scotland in 1996 spanned a lifetime of passion for Fellow, Chris. But it wasn't until 2005 that Chris first came into contact with Douglas Laing at the Feis Ile Festival on Islay and immediately fell in love with a Provenance Port Ellen bottling!
A graphic designer for a French comic book and graphic novel publisher by day, Whisky blogger by night. Franck was first introduced to the world of Single Malt Whisky in 1993 and in 2010 began his Whisky blog, La Cav de Cobalt. Once a month, Franck hosts a tasting for Whisky lovers and people who want to learn more.
Gavin is a devout whisky enthusiast, that has a passion for Whisky and the people behind the craft. Gavin can be found sharing his passion amongst others, through Whisky presentations, or during a gathering with good friends. A longtime fan of Douglas Laing for over 8 Years, Gavin cites the Old Particular Bowmore Feis Ile Edition as his favourite dram.
Greg is an award-winning writer, brand strategy and social media consultant working with brands big and small within the spirits industry to define, build and grow their brands. He is also the Founder of GreatDrams.com and has recently authored his first Whisky book, The GreatDrams of Scotland, a conversational book of stories, anecdotes and historical accounts from Distilleries all over Scotland.
As a passionate whisky connoisseur and writer, Heinz has been dealing with Scotch Whisky for over 26 years. As a doctor of chemistry, he has a particular interest in the chemical processes involved in the production and maturation of spirit into the finest Single Malt. As a volunteer Malt ambassador for Douglas Laing & Co., he also presents Whiskies at national shows and hosts tastings.
A seasoned aficionado when it comes to Whisky, all of his adult life Henrik has been selling wine and liquor - a passion which continues to grow every day!
Jackson is the founder of the Taiwan Single Malt club, as well as a Whisky writer for a number of notable publications throughout Asia. In addition to running the TSMC, Jackson is well involved within the wider Whisky community: he is an active member of the Whisky L Taiwan committee, as well as a guest speaker at a number of Whisky tasting events.
Thanks to an initial introduction to spirits by his older brothers, Jan developed a keen interest in the world of Whisky and pursued a career as a distillery guide. Eventually, Jan would come to join the Douglas Laing team for over a decade, eventually leaving us in the pursuit of love. Today, Jan remains a much loved honorary member of the team.
Having been aware of Whisky from a young age, thanks to his Dad's job working within the export industry, it wasn't until his mid-twenties that Neil truly began to explore Whisky, eventually founding his own Whisky club and volunteering at the Glen Scotia Distillery. Today, Neil can be found introducing Big Peat to those who share his passion for Whisky.
Ruben is the founder of the award-winning WhiskyNotes.be. Established in 2008, it continues to be one of the longest-running whisky blogs on the Internet, featuring daily tasting notes, news and the occasional background article. He is also a certified Sherry educator, focusing on the long-standing interaction between both industries.
Thijs Klaverstijn is a Dutch spirits writer–writing for several websites and magazine as well as sharing his personal thoughts on his blog WordsofWhisky.com. A trip to Scotland in 2013 turned his already existing love of Scotch into an obsession, and as such, he now hops onto an aeroplane to cross the narrow North Sea every chance he gets.
