Helen is our Yorkshire lass, who found herself in the drinks industry over 12 years ago.
After being made redundant in the height of the Economic downturn of 2008, she left behind Sales and Marketing in the House Building world, for a much faster pace of working life, first in beer, and more recently in Scotch Whisky!
She joined Heineken on an initial 3 month contract and was still working in the throes of the Dutch Giant 8 years later.
After working a multitude of roles whilst there - spanning Sales Support, Project Management, Marketing, Business Development and lastly Regional Sales, she was approached by Whyte and Mackay, to join their On-Trade team and drive their growth within the Whisky category in 2017.
Whilst there, she grew the On-Trade Wholesale route-to-market channel and was quickly promoted to Key Account Manager, a role in which she developed hospitality relationships in Leeds, Manchester and Newcastle, before joining Douglas Laing & Co in the role of Business Development Manager (South England & Wales).
In her spare time, Helen can be found enjoying live music gigs and festivals, with her husband and their teenagers Jack and Gabe. She enjoys walking her dog – Peggy the Pug - and loves cooking and planning holidays!

Scott joined Douglas Laing as Head of Sales EMEA in February 2020 following over 20 years in the UK drinks industry.
Starting his career at Tennent Caledonian Breweries in Glasgow, part of Bass Brewers at that time, after initially working in the independent on trade channel he soon found himself in the off-trade where he would go on to hold numerous senior sales positions for Bass, Interbrew, InBev and finally Anheuser Busch InBev, before leaving in April 2013.
His next career move was to start his own company consulting for numerous businesses in the craft beer and gin sector and that is where he first met Alan Mahon of Brewgooder, the craft beer on a mission to provide 1,000,000 people with clean drinking water.
While consulting for Brewgooder in 2017 he was then asked to join the business full time, which he did, as Commercial Director. He would remain there for over 2 years and drive the growth and impact of that business by over 500% before leaving in February 2020 to join the Douglas Laing family.
